Scott Stephens  -  Vice President, Asset Management

Scott Stephens is Vice President of AHA and Asset Management. He has over 20 years of experience in affordable housing asset management.  He and his team oversee a portfolio of more than 24,000 multi-family units while providing expertise in property operations, compliance, development and construction.

Prior to joining AHA, he held the position of Senior Asset Manager for Related California, an affordable housing real estate owner and developer. Mr. Stephens oversaw a portfolio of more than 8,000 units throughout California. His responsibilities included financial and budget reviews, ownership compliance, risk management, due diligence, and project development support. He also worked as an Asset Manager for Edison Capital, an affordable housing tax credit investor/syndicator, where he managed a portfolio of properties throughout the United States.

Mr. Stephens began his career with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation where he became a Section Chief of Asset Management for the Northeast Region. He and his team handled the management and disposition of hundreds of failed bank owned receivership properties.

 

Mr. Stephens holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington, a MBA from Pepperdine University and the Novogradac NPCC designation.
